Fix Photo App Crashing on iPhone/iPad [2018 Updated]


1. Reasons of iPhone Photo App Crashing

If you have a problem with your internet connection, it may cause your iPhone’s new iOS update to fail. This may corrupt some of your apps and it may even cause you to lose some of your photos in the camera roll. 2. Force Quit And Relaunch the Photo App

Step 2: Find the Photos app and swipe up to quit it.

Step 3: Click on the Home button to go to the Home screen.

Step 4: Re-launch the Photo app and check if the app is working.


3. Force Reboot iOS Device

In many instances, you can fix most of the issues on your iPhone by rebooting.

Step 2: Press the Power button again, to restart your device then check if the Photo app is available.

Step 3: If the Photo app is not working, you can force a restart again.



For users of iPhone X, 8, 8 Plus, you just need to press the Volume up and Volume down buttons then after long press the Side button then release when the Apple logo appears on your screen.

Users of iPhone 7 and newer, you can press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons until the Apple logo appears on your screen.

For users of other iPhone models, you press and hold the Power and Home buttons at the same time.
4. Delete .thm files

You just need to follow these steps:

Step 1: On your device, download the free demo for PhoneView.

Step 2: Go to the Preferences tab then Turn on the Advanced mode.

Step 3: Click on the DCIM folder and open the 101 folder.

Step 4: You can delete all the files with the extension .thm folder or just delete the entire 101 folder.

Step 5: You can now restart your iPhone.
